Alexander's Story

Alexander Christopher Jarvis, 36, Granby, Mo., passed away July 11, 2017 at Freeman West, in Joplin, Mo. He was born June 25, 1981, in Smithville, Mo.
Alexander lived the first six years of his life in Excelsior Springs, and in 1987 moved to Granby. He attended East Newton High School and served in the U.S. Army for seven years. Following his discharge from the Army, he returned to Granby and has resided there since.
Alexander had a black belt in Karate, was an avid reader and enjoyed talking about the Bible. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Granby.
Alexander is survived by his mother, Jeanette Jarvis, of Granby; uncle, John Rolek and wife, Kim; and cousin, Molly Rolek. He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Jarvis, in 2003; brother, Paul Jarvis, in 2005; and maternal grandmother, Norma Rolek, in 2011.
Services will be held Monday, July 17, at 10 a.m. at Clark Funeral Home, in Granby, with Rev. Russ Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Granby Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
