Betty Lee Brooks, age 87, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Mercy Hospital, following an illness.
Betty was born on Feb. 17, 1930, in Ft. Scott, Kan., the daughter of the late Levi Perry and Lilly Laura (Love) Feagins.
Betty married Raymond F. Brooks on July 20, 1947. Together they raised six children.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Community of Christ Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Brooks, on Nov. 18, 2014; and by a sister, Alta J. Norman, in 1998.
Betty is survived by three sons, Bobby R. Brooks and wife, Joan, Joplin, Steven Brooks and wife, Jerri, Conway, Mo., and Brian D. Brooks and wife, Tania, Joplin; three daughters, Becky Jo Sears and husband, Raymond, Carrollton, Mo., Anita Mae Tignor and husband, Marty, Joplin, and Nancy J. Zamistal and husband, Raymond, Warrensburg, Mo.; two brothers, Bill J. Feagins and wife, Norma, Pittsburg, Kan., and Leland D. Feagins and wife, Cynthia, Redfield, Kan.; one sister, Anna M. Tebbets, Ft. Scott; 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Lester Lay and Pastor Terry McDermid will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandsons. The visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Mason-Woodard Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
