Carol Gunlock Griffin


Carol Gunlock Griffin resigned her spirit into the arms of Jesus on November 26, 2018. She was 85. Carol was born October 28, 1933, to Albert and Elsie (Drake) Gunlock in Redings Mill, Missouri. She graduated from Alba High School in 1950.

She married Jean Griffin on June 12, 1970. Together they traveled the world, both for work and for pleasure. Carol loved to spend time with family. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed preparing meals and desserts for loved ones. She enjoyed watching sports, especially when her grandchildren were playing.

Jean passed away October 10, 2018. Carol was also predeceased by her parents, brothers J.R. Gunlock and Ron Gunlock, sister Carlene Cox, and daughter-in-law Kristine McCulley.

She is survived by her children, Douglas McCulley and his wife, Brenda; David McCulley; and DeAnn Kolkmeyer and her husband, David. She is also survived by her sister Farol Newdiger and her husband, Don; brother Richard Gunlock and his wife, Ione; sister-in-law Dortha Gunlock; brother-in-law Carl Cox; grandson Drew McCulley and wife, Missy; granddaughter, Cassie Thompson, and husband, Alan; grandsons Dalton Kolkmeyer, Dane Kolkmeyer, and Spencer McCulley; great-grandchildren, Zachary Thompson and Cora McCulley; stepson, Russell Griffin, and stepdaughter, Debby Griffin; and many nephews and nieces.

I didn't know Carol. I did however spend the whole day with her before she passed. She was having a good day she smiled a lot .she talked about her children and grandchildren. She also spoke about her husband. I know how heartbreaking it is to lose your momma. I believe that Carol was at peace that day and ready to go to her home in heaven. Prayers for you at this time and continued prayers throughout.
