Clyde Leon Ward, age 75, of Webb City, Mo., passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, surrounded by family in his home.
For 42 years, he owned and operated Ward's Asphalt. Clyde was a hard worker all his life. In 2005, he retired and handed over the business to his son, Clyde Jr. Even though he retired, you would always find him on the job site.
Clyde enjoyed racing, camping, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn; sister, Marie Estes; children, Edith (Mike) Coberley, Cynthia (Jeff) Redmon, Clyde Jr. (Rachel) Ward; six grandchildren, Zachary (Cali) Redmon, Tiffany (Austin) Norvell, Jennifer (James) Cates, Brandon Coberley, CJ and Clayton Ward; three great-grandchildren, Colton, Brooklyn, and Sadie. Clyde was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Agnes; sister, Henrieltta; and brother, Clarence Ward.
Visitation for Clyde Ward will be Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. John Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bubby and Justin Wald, Charlie and Rick Ward, and Dwayne and Mike Standley.
