Connie S. Ediger, 67, of Galena Kan., went home to be with our Heavenly Father September 3, 2017.
Connie was born on February 7, 1950, in Baxter Springs, Kan., to the union of Carl Carmack and Julia "Blossom" (Hickey) Carmack. Connie graduated from Baxter Springs High School with the class of 1968. In 1971, Connie gave birth to her only son, Devin Ray Wade, who preceded her in death on December 30, 1995.
Connie had several occupations throughout her lifetime, she worked as a dispatcher for the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, ran the Baxter Springs City Pool for several years, was a crossing guard as well as a para for the Baxter Springs school district, and still had momentous given to her over the years by her students. She retired in 2015 as a home health worker. Connie enjoyed helping and being around others.
Connie was a Royals fan, and spent many weekends with her companion, Howard, at Kauffman Stadium. The two also enjoyed taking trips together when they could, they even got to go see the Royals during spring training in Arizona, which she was ecstatic about. Connie also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Kati. She loved their shopping trips and didn't mind being dragged all over the mall to find the perfect outfit for her granddaughter's special occasions. She also enjoyed spending time with her stepchildren, and grandchildren.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Carmack, Julia "Blossom" and Oscar (Dee) DeFratus; her son, Devin Ray Wade; a sister, Judy Bryan; and brother, Carl Carmack.
