Dixie Dean (Lamb) Lyster, formerly of Carl Junction, Mo., and Galena, Kan., passed away on February 13, 2017, in the home of her daughter in Benicia, Calif., at the age of 91 years and 11 months.
She is survived by her children, Victor and Beverly Lyster, of Garland, Texas, and her daughter, Barbara Battin, of Benicia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jodi Battin and Kori and Tim Miller, as well as three great-grandchildren, Paul Battin, Branden Miller, and Austin Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Lyster, and her son-in-law, Jimmie Battin.
She was the last of her generation in the Lyster and Lamb families.
She requested no service be performed at this time. Her ashes will be interred with her husband at Hilltop Cemetery in Galena at a later date.
Dixie was a wonderful mother who taught her children to love with all their hearts and to always strive for independence. No child could ask for more from a mother.
