Donald Reed Russell, of Miami, Okla., passed from this life Friday, July 6, 2018, at his home. He was 82.
Don was born Jan. 25, 1936, in Fairview, Mo., to James Reed and Arva Livina (Reed) Russell. He had lived in the Miami and Commerce area most of his life and graduated from Commerce High School class of 1954. He was a member of the Miami Lodge No. 140 AF&AM for over 50 years and 32 Degree Mason with Tulsa Scottish Rite Consistory for over 50 years.
Don had a variety of jobs throughout the years, he owned and operated a plumbing company in Arizona, worked for Eagle Picher/Umicor, in Quapaw, Newell Coach, in Miami, where he was a carpenter and electrician and later parts department manager and for NEO A&M College in maintenance.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gwen Russell and Jack Russell.
Don married Wanda (Simmons) Russell Feb. 3, 1956. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, Steven Kent Russell, of Grove, Okla., Donald Mark Russell and wife, Lisa, of Quapaw, Okla.; his daughter, Jana Lynn Russell, of Commerce, Okla.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be Monday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, in Commerce. Rev. Steve Patterson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church.
Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service, of Miami.
