Dorothy Helen Bell, 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at home in Daphne, Ala.
Dorothy was born on June 16, 1928, in Rogers, Ark., the daughter of Joseph and Ethel "Knight" Henman. She was a longtime resident of Joplin, Mo., and was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother (Grams). She co-owned several businesses with her husband, enjoyed traveling, was a longtime member of Second Assembly of God and Faith Assembly of God where she was active in church work and especially enjoyed teaching.
She married Darius L. Bell on September 1, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2009.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Drenda Stoner, on February 11, 2017, daughter in law, Dianna Bell, on March 26, 2012, her parents and brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Dan Bell and wife, Patty, of Ozark, Mo., Doug Bell, of Joplin; son-in-law, Harlin Stoner, of Daphne, Ala.; one brother, Jay Henman, Reno, Nev.; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 10, at 10 a.m. at Faith Assembly of God with visitation at 9 a.m. at the church. Rev. Larry Griffin will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale, Ala., and Mason Woodard Mortuary and Crematory in Joplin.
