Eleanor's Story

Eleanor G. Souders, 90, Reno, Nev., formerly of Anderson, Mo., died peacefully in her sleep on April 12, 2017. Eleanor was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of Glenn and Sylvia (Wallace) Westfall.
She attended schools in Emporia, Kan. and was a homemaker. While living in Anderson, she was involved with the Senior Citizens Groups in Lanagan and Pineville, helping with the flowers and taking care of the building. She moved to Reno in 2005 from Anderson.
Eleanor and Walter J. Souders Jr. were married on Nov. 25, 1942, in Neosho, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 2002.
She is survived by three children, Carl Souders, of Jasper, Mo., Sharon L. Stoppleman, of Arizona, and Janice F. Maddux, of Reno; a sister, Delores Gosselin, of California; and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two daughters, Karen and Joyce.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, on Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Private graveside services will be held.
