Eric Brandon Byrd passed away on September 28, 2017 at 5:50 p.m. at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mo.
Eric was born in Adak, Alaska, on February 11, 1964, to Bill and Judy Byrd. After high school he served in the U.S. Army.
He returned from service to be with his son, Dustin Byrd, who was born September 11, 1981.
On October 16, 1998, he married his wife, Tami Byrd. They had a daughter, Lexi Byrd, on April 25, 2001.
Eric was employed at Midwest Color Graphics, in Columbus, Kan., for 20 years and most recently worked for Bemis, the last five years, as a printer. Eric was an avid fisherman, camper and enjoyed kayaking and loved the outdoors. He also loved traveling abroad with family and friends. Eric always brightened a room with his sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his wife, Tami Byrd, and daughter, Lexi Byrd, of the home; son, Dustin Byrd and wife, Natasha, and grandson, Ayden, of Webb City; father, Bill Byrd, of Webb City; brothers, Steve Byrd, of Duenweg, Mo., Kyle Byrd, of Canada; nieces, Jennifer Branch, Joplin, Chelsie Polston, Cabool, Mo.; nephew, Taylor Byrd, Duenweg; and several great-nephews.
Eric will be missed by all his family, friends and all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace "Easy E".
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 7, at 2 p.m. at Forest Park Church at 7th and Rangeline Road, Joplin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joplin Humane Society, in memory of Eric.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
