Erman C. 'Jr.' Jay, 64, Racine, Mo., entered into rest on May 14, 2018 at Freeman West Hospital, in Joplin, Mo., following a lengthy illness.
Jr. was born April 6, 1954, in Joplin, the son of Erman C. and Dixie (Triplett) Jay. He was a lifelong area resident and had worked as a carpenter and as a line supervisor at Daisy Manufacturing. He was a Golden Gloves Champion Boxer, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was of the Apostolic Faith.
Jr. is survived by his mother, Dixie, of the home; two sisters, Irma Lee Cornell and husband, Steve, and Sandra Jean Hatfield and husband, Gary, all of Neosho; special cousin, Jim Daniels, of Joplin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Erman; and sister, Alice Marie Sundy.
Services will be Friday, May 18, at 10 a.m. at the Racine Lighthouse Apostolic Church, Kelly Sampson will officiate. Interment will follow at the Burkhart Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 5 pm.
