Floyd's Story

Floyd Raymond Church, age 101, of Joplin, Mo., passed away Sunday June 4, 2017, at Freeman Hospital of Joplin.
He was born September 1, 1915, to the late Raymond Howard Church and Edith L. McPherson.
He owned and operated his own furniture business, Church Furniture Company, for many years in Joplin. After retirement, he still enjoyed the furniture business.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Vobbe and Lorene Ricke,
Survivors include nephews, Mark Parrish and Timothy Ricke; and a good friend that helped provide for his care, Robert Bucklin and his children, Scott and Shelly; also the See family, Kim, Scott, Bradley, and Nathan.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 9, at 10 a.m. in the Carl Junction Cemetery with Rev. Jeff D. Martin, officiating. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday, June 8, from 6 to 7 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
