Frances Irene Hansford, 102 passed away August 21, 2018 in Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Mo. Frances was born October 31, 1915, in Bowers Mill, LaRussell, Mo., to Fred and Eva Grieb.
She was a lifetime rural Diamond, Mo. resident and was a seamstress. She worked for Big Smith for several years and later retired from there. Frances was a member of the Church of Christ.
Frances was united in marriage to Frank E. Hansford September 26 1936, in Diamond. He preceded her in death, November 17, 1996
Frances is survived by two sons, Gary Hansford and wife, Michele, of Carthage, Mo., and Freddie Hansford and wife, Donna, of Granby, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Vera Lea Hansford, of Granby; one brother, W.A. Grieb, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Erin Boursheski (Kent), Troy Hansford, Doug Hansford(Linda), Teresa Welke (Brian); and six great-grandchildren. Frances is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Russell Hansford; three brothers, Claude Grieb, Lloyd Grieb and Lee Grieb; one sister, Edna Faye Morgan; and one grandson, Thad Hansford.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 25, at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 24, at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Center Cemetery, south of Carthage.
