Frank Edward Rader

Events

Frank Edward Rader, age 81, of rural Lamar, Mo., passed away Sunday evening, Aug. 7, 2016, following a long illness. Frank was born Sept. 8, 1934, in Barton County, Mo., to Elbert and Elsie (Cass) Rader. On December 5, 1965, at the Christian Church in Lamar, he married Maxine Roby and they made their home and farmed in the Hopewell community for the past 50 years. Great memories were made throughout those years, as Frank and Maxine traveled the U.S., visiting Hawaii five times, Alaska twice, and every other state at least once. An avid Royals and Cardinals baseball fan, Frank loved to go to Florida to watch his beloved Cardinals in spring training. He also went to Surprise, Ariz. for the Royals spring training in 2004 and 2005. Active in his community, Frank served on the board of the Barton County Senior Center, where he enjoyed the daily fellowship of friends, shooting pool, and playing dominos. Loyal to his country and interested in government, he was an active affiliate in the Barton County Republican Women and Men Associates. Frank was a member of Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Maxine, and son, David, of the home; a daughter, Cynthia (Monte) Johnson, and granddaughter, Sydney Johnson, of Carl Junction, Mo.; a brother, Robert (Barbara) Rader, of Jasper, Mo.; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11th, at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Barton County Senior Center, in care of the funeral home. Condolences and memories may be shared at danielfuneralhome.net.
