Gregory Thomas Kunce (62 years old), of Littleton, Colo., passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.
Greg is survived by his wife, Barbara Kunce, of Littleton; mother, Celia Kunce, of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Michael Kunce (Stephanie), of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Katie Chirby (Yves), of Atlanta, and Kimberly Greer (Samuel), of West Des Moines, Iowa; and cousin, David Allen (Donnell), of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Bob Kunce; brother, Patrick Kunce; and sister, Janet Kunce.
Greg was born on January 14, 1956, in Wichita, Kan., to Bob and Celia Kunce. After attending college at Missouri Southern University, he worked for an IOL corporation and Command Communications, but his true passion was music; at an early age, he began singing and playing drums and guitar. After moving to Littleton, in 1979, he performed around central Colorado and for two decades played in the acoustic folk-rock duo South Jefferson County with bandmate, J.J. Fraser.
Greg married Barbara Lynn Vander Meulen July 25,1992. Barbara was a loving and caring wife.
Greg will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Littleton. There will be a graveside memorial Saturday February 24, 2 p.m., Osborne Memorial Cemetery, Joplin, Mo.
