Harold Gene Harris, 91, Stark City, Mo., entered into rest on August 20, 2017 at Granby House, Granby, Mo., following a short illness.
Harold was born February 4, 1926, in Fairview, Mo., the son of Amza and Lovenia O'Dell (Bradley) Harris and was a lifelong Fairview and Stark City resident and graduated from Fairview High School in 1944.
He served in the U.S. Army and served as postmaster, in Stark City, for 24 years. He was a dairy and cattle farmer and a longtime Cardinals fan.
Harold and Cynthia (Poor) were married on September 6, 1944, in Carroll County, Ark. She preceded him in death on March 13, 2013.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Harris and wife, Maxine, and Terry Harris and wife, Brenda, all of Stark City; one brother, Ray Harris, of Stark City; five grandchildren, Melissa Brunner and husband, Rob, Clovis Harris and wife, Michelle, Marla Harris, Sam Harris and wife, Shelly, Brent Harris and wife, Cindy; nine great-grandchildren; Tyler White, Houston Harris, Lauren Bray, McKenzie Horne, Milton Brunner, Georgia Mae Harris, Adaline Harris, Cecilia Harris and Amza Rae Harris; and two great- great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Clovis Harris, and two sisters, Wanda Dickens and Dean Allen.
Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held on Wednesday, August 23, at 2 p.m. at the Muncie Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Tuesday evening at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, from 6 to 8 pm.
