Howard "Junior"'s Story
Junior Anderson, 74, of Aurora, Mo., passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Mo. He was born to Howard Sr. and Lena Grimes Anderson on May 15, 1942, in Aurora.
Junior attended Hurley Community Baptist Church, he worked at the Juvenile Shoe Factory as well as Viles Oil Company. He owned and operated a trucking company and he and his wife, Jeannie, owned Jean's Dolls in downtown Aurora. Many knew him as a regular at Jim Carr's, in Aurora.
Survivors include his son, Jeff Anderson and wife, Andy, of Springfield; daughter, Janet Wartnaby and husband, James, of Joplin, Mo.; brother, Tom Anderson and wife, Peggy, of Crane, Mo.; two sisters, Sue Tichenor and husband, Wade, and Doris Harmon, both of Crane; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeannie; stepson, Steven Williams; and a grandson, Jared Hill.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 7, at 10 a.m. in the Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
