Jackie Ray Burks, 65, of Riverton, Kan., passed from this life on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.
Jackie was born on December 18, 1951, in Springfield, Mo., to the union of Kenneth James and Fonda Joy (Criger) Burks. Jackie graduated from Fordland High School with the class of 1969.
Jackie was united in marriage to Sharon (Hodge) Burks on October 29, 1979, in Fordland, Mo.
He has lived in the Riverton area since 1983, working as a truck driver with Above Par Trucking. Jackie was an avid Oakland Raiders football fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Jackie is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Burks; wife, Sharon Burks; brother, Michael Ray Burks.
Jackie is survived by his mother, Fonda Burks, of Springfield; four sons, Wayne Burks and wife, Adena, of Joplin, Mo., Brycie Burks and wife, Kim, of Sullivan, Mo., Andrew Burks and wife, Michelle, of Washington, Ill., and Kenneth "Troy" Burks and wife, Carrie, of Joplin; one daughter, Miranda Upton and husband, Shane, of Riverton; one brother, James Burks and wife, Sheila, of Springfield; two sisters, Joyce Williams, of Springfield, and Janet Dellinger and husband, Jim, of Ozark, Mo.; along with 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 19, at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel. Family will receive friends from noon until service time on Saturday. Following the service Jackie has been entrusted to Derfelt's Baxter Chapel for cremation.
