Janice Maples passed away peacefully in her home on December 24, 2017. Janice was the eldest of three children born to Noel and Margie Lambeth. She was born in Carthage, Missouri on December 2, 1942. Janice attended Jasper Schools and graduated in 1960. She remained lifelong friends with several classmates.
Janice worked for Leggett & Platt for 20 years. She was one of the company's first women to take a role in management. It was while she was working as the Office Manager in the Mason, Ohio facility, that she met William "Bill" Maples. They were married October 10, 1975 in Jasper, Missouri. They remained partners and best friends until Bill's death on November 1, 2017.
Jan and Bill loved their beautiful farm in Neosho, Missouri. They made many friends during their 30 years "on the hill". They lived their life by The Golden Rule and never met a stranger. They believed in the value of trusting and helping out their fellow man. They particularly enjoyed sharing a beverage at sunset and discussing the day's events surrounded by their pets and friends.
Jan will be missed by her daughter, Marcy (husband, Chad) Lee of Mission Viejo, California; Bill's Son, John Maples of Morrow, Ohio; Grandchildren, Bryce & Tate Lee of Denver, Colorado, Noelle Lee of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Rachel Maples of Morrow, Ohio; Brother, David (Wife, Ginger) Lambeth of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Sister, Susie (Husband, Mark) Andersen of Boulder, Colorado; Aunt, Lillian Hornback of Carthage, Missouri and many friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 4, from 3 pm--7 pm at Jan and Bill's Farm. Friends, family and neighbors are invited to come by and visit during that time. A prayer and remarks will occur at sunset.
