Jay Haynes

Jay D. Haynes, age 66, Joplin, MO, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at his residence.
Jay was born September 2, 1952, in Joplin, to Patricia Heatherington Haynes and the late J.D. Haynes. He had lived in Joplin most of his life.
Jay worked in the truck equipment sales and management industry for many years. He enjoyed golf, listening to Blues and Rock & Roll. Jay was a proud supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners, win or lose, and watched baseball every chance he had. One thing Jay had always wanted to do was visit Cooperstown. He was able to take in everything it had to offer this spring, and more. Jay loved life and was devoted to his family. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
He married Debra Peppers on June 16, 1972, in Joplin. She survives at the home.
In addition to his father, Jay was preceded in death by a daughter, Pepper Suzanne Haynes.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Sabre Michelle Haynes, Joplin; his mother, Patricia Haynes, Lee's Summit, MO; a brother, Douglas Ray Haynes, Lee's Summit; his sister-in-law, Denise Cline; two nephews; a niece; a great-nephew; three great-nieces; and other loving extended family and wonderful friends.
Much gratitude goes out to the Mercy Oncology and Mercy Hospital staff, Spring River Christian Village Rehabilitation staff and the Compassus team.
Services are planned for Monday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dr. John Nipper will officiate. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 - 5 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or, to First Presbyterian Church, both in care of Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I will always remember playing baseball with Jay and Doug back in the 50's and 60's. Jay was one of the good guys.
