Joyce Ann. Frey (née Tillman), age 73, of Hillsboro, MO, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at her residence.
She was born April 1946, in Joplin, MO, and was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah St. Clair-Chinn; and her brothers, Robert St. Clair and Warren St. Clair; a nephew, Robert St. Clair II; and three cousins, Terry Darby, Jerry Darby and Kenneth Darby.
She is survived by two sons, Edward (Tom) Thompson II, of Maryland Heights, MO, and Michael Thompson, of St. Charles, MO; one granddaughter, Mia Mae Thompson; and one grandson, Michael Thompson II; two sisters-in-law, Nancy St. Clair, of Joplin, and Anita St. Clair, of Bolivar; a niece, Suzan St. Clair-McPherson (husband Mark), of Joplin; two nephews, Gary St. Clair, of Bolivar, and Steven St. Clair (wife Mindy), of Joplin; four great-nieces, Rachel St. Clair, Hannah (husband Wes) Schemmer, Claire McPherson and Isabella St. Clair; also five great-nephews, Robert St. Clair Jr, Naboth (wife Jennifer) St. Clair, Caleb (wife LJ) St. Clair, Ryun St. Clair and Devin St. Clair. Five great-great-nephews, Elijah, Urahia, Kason St. Clair and Gage Stein, Preston Schemmer; and five great-great-nieces, Nadine Marcinek, Elisabeth, Hadassah, Bethany and Adrianna St. Clair, Keziah Ruth and Micaiah Jael St.Clair.
Joyce was a licensed broker for 45 years and associated with Berkshire Hathaway Alliance, in Festus, at the time of her death. She was the branch manager for the Coldwell Banker Gundaker Hillsboro office until 2008, a member of the St. Louis Board of Realtors, Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce, Glade Garden Club, Kress Nature Preserve and S.A.V.E (Sheriff's Alumni Volunteer Echelon), a past member of the Hillsboro Rotary Club and R.E.S.A. She also has served on the Hillsboro Police Personnel Board, the Hillsboro Planning and Zoning Commission and the Hwy 21 Task Force. She became a Master Gardner in 2016.
Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Brown Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Visitation will be Saturday, August 10, from 9-11 a.m., with a service immediately following. The body will be taken to Joplin for graveside services and burial at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Monday, August 12, next to her best friend and beloved mother, Beulah St. Clair-Chinn, whom she lost May 23, 1997.
Memorials may be made to the Neosho, MO Shriners Children's Travel Fund or the Kress Nature Preserve.
