Events

Kyle Andrew Hawkins, age 39, of Asbury, Mo. (formerly of Carl Junction, Mo.), passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, from injuries sustained in an accident on January 29, 2019. Kyle was born on June 15, 1979, in Carthage, Mo., to Jim and Susan (Winder) Hawkins.
Kyle was a 1997 graduate of Carl Junction High School and was currently employed by the Carl Junction School System. He previously worked as a delivery driver for Specialty Foods, the City of Joplin as a transit driver and Superior Wheel, in Pittsburg, Kan. However, in 2011, Kyle began his most rewarding career ever, that of being a Dad to his daughter, Kendall Nicole. He devoted his endless time and love in creating a wonderful life full of fun and adventures for the both of them. Even though their time together may have been shortened, Kendall will forever have those wonderful memories of her and her Dad.
Kyle is survived by his daughter, Kendall Nicole Hawkins, and her mother, Amber Page Hawkins, of Webb City; parents, Jim and Susan Hawkins, of Asbury; brother, Chad Hawkins, of Asbury and his children, Lashaya, Laydon and Laykin Hawkins, and their mother, Samantha Chew; nieces, Zoey Morton, LaCaden Hawkins and Sierra Page. Aunts and uncles, Terry Winder, of Webb City, Kris Winder of Joplin, Janet and Ron Cook, of Joplin, Rosemary and Ron Combs, of Webb City, and Jim Eden, of Joplin. Additional survivors include many cousins and extended family members as well as a large community of friends. Kyle was preceded in death, and will be reunited in heaven with, his younger brother, Cade Hawkins; maternal grandmother, Lucille Winder, of Webb City; maternal grandfather, Bill Winder, of Joplin; paternal grandparents, Norma and Buck Hawkins, of Webb City; step-grandfather, Al Melton, of Webb City, and aunts, Dianne Winder, of Webb City, and Nancy Eden, of Joplin.
Kyle will always be remembered for his big heart and his many selfless acts of kindness shown to many people. That is why he was loved by so many and how hard it will be to imagine our lives without him.
In keeping with Kyle's love and kindness for others, he had become a registered organ donor. And now, there are many others who will be rewarded by his kindness, and live a better life because of him. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20, at 2 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home, in Webb City, with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. The family will be present for visitation on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 26000 Locust, Webb City.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefer memorial contributions to be made to Kendall's care, a fund has established for the care and future education of his daughter, at any Community Bank and Trust.
