Larry E. Black, 80, of Joplin, Mo., passed from this life April 10th, 2018 peacefully, in his home, with family at his side.
Larry was born, in Plains, Kan., to Beulah and Leroy Black. He lived in Ulysses, Kan. for many years, graduating high school there.
Larry was employed at Cities Service Gas Co.; then transferred to Joplin, worked for Williams Gas until retirement. His hobbies were woodworking and he was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by a son, Wendell; his parents; brother, Ron Black; stepdaughter, Penny Combs; and stepson, Dan Combs.
Survivors include wife, Dixie, of the home; daughter, Lisha and husband, Jeff Rhoades; son, Marlie; stepsons, Jerry and Ed. Larry has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time. Graveside services will be in Ulysses at a later date.
Larry will be missed by many.
