Leona C. (Hastert) Marchbanks, 86, Seneca, Mo., passed away September 20, 2017 at Brooke Dale Village Nursing Home, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Leona Clara Hastert was born October 22, 1930, the daughter of Daniel and Bertha ( Pichert ) Hastert. Leona was a 1949 graduate of Richmond High School, Richmond, Kan. She worked as a cashier for the former IGA, in Seneca, and retired from G & W Foods, in Seneca, after many years in the grocery business. Leona was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Seneca.
Leona Clare Hastert married Melbourne Eugene Marchbanks, in Noel, Mo. He preceded her in death August 17, 2017.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Creed, Oklahoma City; one granddaughter, Trena Durbin, Oklahoma City; two step-grandsons, Nathan Creed, Elkhart, Ind., and Micah Creed, Oklahoma City; one sister, Helen Parr, Leavenworth, Kan. Leona was also preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Bertha Hastert; one son, Rick Marchbanks; siblings, Hilda (Billie) Deatherage, Marle Nelson, Merie Hastert, Glenn Hastert and Gene Hastert.
Rosary services will be held a 7 p.m., October 6, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Seneca. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m., October 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Rev. Patrick Teeter officiating. The body has been taken for cremation.
