Lillian Zada Buerge-Carpenter, 76, passed away June 6, 2017, at her home.
Lil was born June 25, 1940, in Commerce, Texas, to Hansel Lucas and Lera Miller Lucas. Lil was a longtime resident of Avilla, Mo., and worked at Justin Boot. She was a member of the Avilla City Council for many years.
Lil was united in marriage to Kenneth Buerge September 17, 1979; he preceded her in death August, 2004.
On December 27, 1997, she was united in marriage to Dean Carpenter in Las Vegas, Nev.; he preceded her in death April 29, 2009.
Lil is survived one son, Leonard Buerge, of Joplin; two daughters, Kenetta Kay Colombe of Gravette, Ark., and Lisa Lynn McKinney, of Seneca, Mo.; three sisters, Latrell Beck, of Albuquerque, N.M., Lola Jones of Leonard, Texas, and Joan Wilcox, of Tyler, Texas; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Lil was preceded in death by one son, Tony Lucas.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Avilla Baptist Church in Avilla. Burial will be at Avilla Cemetery.
