Lillie Bell Hazen, known to her friends as Lil, passed away on December 21, 2017, at the age of 81.
Born January 14, 1936, to Barney and Emma Wilcox, she was raised in the Des Moines, Iowa, area and was the youngest of four girls.
Lillie was married to her best friend, Morton Leo Hazen, known to friends as Moe, on April 12, 1983. Lil and Moe loved to travel and fish together.
Lillie was preceded in death by Moe, on February 3, 2011, and her son, Michael Glenn Consolver.
Lillie was the owner of Lil's Café in Joplin, Mo., for over 20 years and the owner of Hickory Inn Restaurant in Grove, Okla., from 2008 to 2013.
Lillie is survived by her four children, Dennis, Glenn, Peggy, and Roger; 14 grandchildren, Lance, Amanda, Tabby, Brandon, Aaron Amber, Cristina Ali, Jared, Aubri, Samantha, Glenn, Bruce, and Rylee; and six great-grandchildren, Dannielle, McKennan, Isabella, Ryder, Ryan and Sadie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd. in Clive, Iowa, at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 27. Her cremated remains will be laid to rest immediately following at the Greenfield Friends Cemetery in Ankeny, Iowa.
