Text size

Our loving Christian mother, Margaret Jean Collard, met her heavenly Father on December 28, 2017, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Mo., at the age of 95.
Mom was born May 28, 1922, at Anderson, Mo., to Fritz and Marie Schneider.
She was married to Arthur Eugene Collard on October 5, 1941, at her parent's home in Bunker Hill, Mo. Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Also preceding her were her sisters, Mildred Schneider and Marion Hodson.
She will be greatly missed by many friends, neighbors and family that loved her. She was a wonderful selfless person, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family feels very blessed to have had her to share their lives. She was a strong and determined woman even to the end. Margaret was active in her beloved Oronogo Baptist Church since 1957. She liked to cook, fish and garden, and loved her family. She loved taking care of her grandsons and great-grandchildren when she could.
Survivors include a brother, Fred Schneider, of Anderson; and three sons, James F. Collard and his wife, Karen, of Oronogo, Mo., Randolph Collard, of Oronogo, and David E. Collard and his wife, Nancy, of Webb City, Mo; six grandchildren, Clay Collard, Douglas Collard, Marcy Neager, Matthew Collard, Justin Collard, and Adam Collard; and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her good friend, Merilene Irwin.
A visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018, from 10 a.m. until service time at the First Baptist Church of Oronogo. Funeral services will start at 11 a.m. with Pastor Darin Youngberg officiating. Interment will be at the Tracy Cemetery, east of Anderson, MO.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Oronogo.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Clay Collard, Douglas Collard, Matthew Collard, Justin Collard, Adam Collard, Brian Neager, Wyatt Collard, Houston Collard, Bronson Collard, and Pastor Darin Youngberg.
Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
