Marilyn K. Beasley


Marilyn K. Beasley, of Joplin, Mo., was born in Pittsburg, Kan. on August 9, 1948, and passed away in Joplin on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at age 70.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mary Swartz, of Pittsburg.
In 1965, she graduated from Colgan High School, in Pittsburg, and attended Pitt State University.
On August 13, 1968 she was united in marriage to Ralph (RL) Beasley.
For a number of years Marilyn worked as a secretary for Commerce Bank, in Joplin, and retired in 2013. She was a devoted Christian, and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to shop for bargains, do crossword puzzles and take vacation trips with her family. As long as she was with family, it didn't matter where she went.
Marilyn loved helping people and was dedicated to assisting and supporting her husband in ministry for over 30 years. She will be greatly missed not only by her family, but by so many friends and others whom she touched with her love, compassion and commitment to bring them God's love and truth as she served Jesus Christ.
Survivors include RL, her husband of 50 years; her two sons, a daughter and one sister. Eric Beasley and his wife, Heather, of Webb City, Scott Beasley and his wife, Michele, of Joplin, Trisha Carlin and her husband, Jason, of Joplin; her sister, Pat Emerson and husband, Ron, of Pittsburg; 12 grandchildren, Matt Beasley, Maria Beasley, Titus Beasley, Eden Beasley, Elyssa Beasley, Breana Black, Eli Herbert, Jordan Walker, Makayla Walker, Devin Langston, Jaiden Carlin and Wyatt Carlin.
A memorial service and celebration will be held at the Joplin Family Worship Center, 5290 East 7th Street, in Joplin, on Tuesday, January 8th, starting at 11 a.m. Pastor Daniel H. Wermuth II will be officiating.

Many memories will be held dear of. Marilyn as growing up we lived only several blocks away and went to school from K thru 12th.
I am thankful and blest to have been touched by Marilyns life. May she now rest in the arms of Jesus.

I was remembering my wedding day. Aug 1, 1981. Family around, getting ready, and Aunt Marilyn had to fix my hair before I left. It’s a very special memory to me. She loved all well! I will miss her smile & her laughter!

My sincere condolences. Marilyn was a dear classmate from grades K to12 at St. Mary’s in Pittsburg KS . I was last with her at our 50-year classs reunion. She was a beautiful person and is surely reaping her rewards. God Bless her family.
