Marilyn Sue Pliler, age 73, of Carterville, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at her home.
She was born in Webb City, Mo., to F. LeRoy Williams and Agnes (West) Williams on Jan. 1, 1945. Marilyn worked in the food service industry for 30 plus years and at the Ramada Inn in Joplin, Mo., just shy of 20 years. She was a member of the Carterville Methodist Church and her focus in life was spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids whom she loved dearly.
She married William Roy Pliler on Sept. 3, 1966, in Joplin and he preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1982, and now she is finally reunited with the love of her life that she had missed dearly for so many years.
Marilyn was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lois Barlow.
She is survived by her sons, Brian Pliler and wife, Kristy, of Springfield, Mo., Kevin Pliler, of Carterville; daughters, Susan Manka and husband, Donald, of Carterville, Gretchen Passley and husband, Travis, of Carterville; sister, Leah Cox, of Carterville; brother, Gary Williams, of Ft. Collins, Colo.; grandsons, Keith Pliler, Andrew Manka, Garrett Pliler, Colton Passley, Michael Manka; granddaughters, Allison Pliler and Autumn Pliler.
The family will be present for visitation on Monday, July 9, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Carterville Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
