Mary DeLand entered the Kingdom of God on April 6, 2017 at 2:50 a.m., from her home in Holiday Island, Ark., with family at her side.
Mary was born November 29, 1939, in Pineville, Mo., to the late John C. Kelley Jr. and Oval Kelley.
She attended Pineville schools before moving to Joplin, where she graduated from Duenweg High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1969 at MSSC and later graduated from PSU with a Master's Degree in Counseling.
After retirement, Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband to all 50 states, Mexico, Canada and 18 European countries. She was a lifetime believer and attended the Holiday Island Community Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard DeLand; her parents; and brother, James Kelley.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Esquerra (Al), of Laguna Beach, Calif.; son, Ron Burton (Stephanie), Joplin, Mo.; adopted daughter in love, Cindy Weaver (Dan), Racine, Mo.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Carole Powell, Joplin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The body has been taken for cremation with services to be held at a later date.
