Mary's Story

Mary Alice Woodmansee, age 100, of Webb City, Mo., passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017, at Spring River Christian Village. She was born on March 26, 1917, in Galesburg, Mo., to John Pete Sabiston and Maude (Pryor) Sabiston.
Mary retired from Sperry Vickers in 1980, and she also worked for Smith Brothers Factory, the Shoe Warehouse, and the Parson's Ammunition Plant. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Webb City, and a Webb City High School graduate.
Mary married Harold Woodmansee on April 2, 1938, in Joplin, Mo., and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1969.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Webb and Thelma Porter; and a brother, John Sabiston.
Mary is survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, in Webb City, with Reverend Ron Woody officiating. Mary will lie in state for viewing on Monday between the hours of 12 and 4 p.m. The family will be present for a visitation on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow the services in Weaver Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Mary's wishes were for donations to be given to the First Baptist Church, in Webb City.
Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home, in Webb City.
