Michael Ray Henson, age 65, of Purcell, Mo., left this world to go home to his Lord and Savior, Thursday, September 21, 2017, at home with his wife and children.
Mike was born October 18,1951, in Neck City, Mo. Mike attended Alba school and graduated in 1969 from WCHS.
He met the love of his life, Janelle Erwin, in 1972. They were married on November 16,1974. They welcomed two children, Christopher Michael and Katrina Raylene. Chris and his wife, Meghan, blessed Michael with two precious granddaughters, Alyson Marie Henson and Emely Ruth Henson.
Michael worked for Leggett and Platt Wire Mill and Bill Rose pump service. He drove the Sunday school bus for PBC, of which he was a member, and took his grandchildren every Sunday. He coached Jr. and Sr. Babe Ruth baseball for many many years for Tri-City Baseball. His love was to go fishing, which he did as often as possible. He tried to help anyone as often as possible.
Mike is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janelle; son, Christopher and his wife, Meghan, of Purcell; two granddaughters Alyson and Emely; daughter, Katrina, of the home. Other survivors include Karen Williams and husband. Jim. of Neck City, Kathy Kraemer. of Burton, Texas, Lori Dennis, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two brothers, Mark Henson and wife, Raquelle, of Oronogo, Mo., and Douglas Henson and wife, Susan, of Reddings Mill, Mo. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Victor, Edward and Roy "Mick" Henson; and two sisters, Beverly Williams and Deborah Simpson.
The body was taken for cremation.
A memorial and celebration of his life will be held at Purcell Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 27th, at 1 p.m., visitation at noon.
