Norma J. "Jeannie" Gautney, age 66, of Aurora, Mo., passed from this life, surrounded by her family, due to a sudden illness on July 8, 2017. She was the daughter of William M. and Lois M. (Neill) Haynie; born September 11, 1950. She graduated from Willard High School in 1968.
Dean and Jeannie were married December 21, 1980.
She enjoyed a career as the owner of several business ventures, and as a paraprofessional in the Aurora school system. She was a loving mother and "momo" who gave without wanting, and never failed to give all herself to everyone she loved. Her legacy will live on through the love she so selflessly gave.
She is preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Tommy.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dean Gautney; three daughters and one granddaughter, Amanda and husband, Kyle Haberly, of Las Vegas, Nev., Sarah (Gautney) Howlett and daughter, Kadence Howlett, of Aurora, and Jennifer Gautney and Tim Schellen, of Aurora. She was blessed with two "bonus: daughters, Debbie Weathermon, of Aurora, and Jamie Owens, of Springfield, Mo.; as well as four "bonus" grandsons from Aurora, Joshua, Casey, Peyton, and Jansen Weathermon.
Visitation will be at The First Presbyterian Church, in Aurora, on Wednesday, July 12, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 13, at 10 a.m. at The First Presbyterian Church, in Aurora, under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Immediately following the service there will be a graveside tribute at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins, Mo. The graveside tribute will be a celebration of Jeannie's life and legacy.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in the honor and memory of Jeannie to the Building Fund at The First Presbyterian Church, in Aurora, or Clio Cemetery, in Jenkins.
