"Grief starts to become indulgent, and it doesn't serve anyone and its painful. But if you transform it into remembrance then you're magnifying the person you lost and also giving something of the person to other people so they can experiences something of that person."
Ray Birkinsha was such a gift to those that knew him and that were fortunate enough to share a experience with him. He gave us the gift of love, laughter, knowledge, and compassion. We have the opportunity to magnify all he gave us by remembering those moments, those memories, those laughs. May we continue to cherish those precious memories and share them with each other that they may share a piece of who he was.
I found myself these last years saying or doing something that sparked a memory. Every time I pause to see God's beauty, I am reminded. Every time I hear somebody laugh loudly, I am reminded. Every time I hear an old song he sang or see a hot rod he would like, I am reminded. Every time my kids need encouragement, I am reminded. What reminds you? Share the moments. Remember the gifts that "Frito Ray " gave us. As we share and as we recall he lives on in our hearts and our memories.
