Richard M. Knoblauch


Richard M. Knoblauch, age 85, from Carl Junction, Mo., passed away peacefully with his wife, children, and grandchildren at his bedside. He was born in rural Verona, Mo., in Lawrence County, June 15, 1932. His parents were I.J. and Audrey (Harrall) Knoblauch.
Richard attended Verona Elementary and High School graduating in 1950. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. Richard graduated from Southwest Missouri State College, in 1958, with a B. S. in education degree and a master's degree in biology.
He met and married Nina Ham, also from Verona, on Oct. 17, 1957. She survives him at their home.
They were blessed with two children: a son, Kurt Knoblauch and wife, Marcia; one daughter, Marti Shelton; four grandchildren, Zachary Knoblauch, Faith Knoblauch, Jamie Shelton, and Joseph Shelton.
His teaching career spanned 30 years. He was a member of the Verona Christian Church, Carl Junction United Methodist Church, Lions Club, Elks Club, and Kiwanis. Professional memberships were: Missouri State Teachers Association and National Association of Biology. Richard's favorite hobbies were woodcarving and gardening.
We, the family, humbly thank our Blessed Lord God for having shared this kind, good and gentle loving person in our lives.
There are no services planned at this time.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home, in Webb City.
