Robert "Bob" Warren Miller, age 95, of Carl Junction, Mo., passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Freeman Hospital, in Joplin.
Bob was born May 24, 1922, in Carl Junction, son of the late Raymond Earl Miller and Olga Appleman Miller. Bob graduated from Carl Junction High School, and then served in the United States Army during World War II.
He returned to Carl Junction and worked in his father's newspaper until his parents died in 1959. He became owner and editor of the Carl Junction Standard Newspaper. He was a former Jasper County Deputy Assessor, member of the Carl Junction Methodist Church, member of the Carl Junction Cemetery Association and a member of the Carl Junction Alumni Association.
He married Nona Marie Mitchell on May 21, 1941, in Columbus, Kan. She preceded him in death on August 3, 1999.
Survivors include his daughters, Pat McClain and husband, Bill, of Miami, Okla., Joyce Attuso and husband, Ron, of Mesa, Ariz. Grandchildren: Mark McClain, of Springfield, Mo., Todd McClain and wife, Kristi, of Miami, Okla., Jennifer Taraci and husband, Dave, of Chandler, Ariz., Robert Attuso and wife, Jodie, of Gilbert, Ariz., and Ryan Attuso and wife, Vanessa, of Gilbert, Ariz. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and four great-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 18, at 10 a.m., in Parker Mortuary Chapel, with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. Interment will follow in the Carl Junction Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m.
Family request that memorial contributions be made to the Carl Junction Cemetery Association or the Carl Junction Senior Citizens Center.
