Robert Zwisler

Robert Ray 'Bob' Zwisler passed away June 7, 2019.
Bob was born August 16, 1931, to the late Albertine Backley Zwisler and Ray Zwisler, in Kansas City, MO.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine.
Bob met Shirley Ann Funk in high school in Kansas City. They were married January 2, 1951 and had two children, Vicky Efird and Ron Zwisler, both of Joplin.
One of Bob's greatest joys in life was spending time with his two children from the time they were tiny tots. Later, hunting, fishing, junking, card games or whatever, as long as they were doing things together. Living in the country at Limberlost since 1978, where Bob and Shirley built their home, has been very special to him.
Bob worked at the social security office, in Kansas City, for several years. He began his career at Kraft Foods Company at the age of 24 and retired at the age of 61 in 1992. He was account supervisor who won many awards, including 'Merchandiser of the Year', for the southwest division. The award he was most proud of was Kraft's' highest honor, 'The Jade Merit Award', given to only 2 percent of Kraft employees worldwide. Through his sales ability with Kraft Foods, Bob won two separate trips to Hawaii for he and Shirley.
Bob was president of Allied Foods Club and a member of Racine Christian Church, where he was a Hill Topper leader for several years. Since retiring, Bob has had fun scouting the area for treasures for his booth at the antique mall.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; daughter, Vicky Efird and husband, Doug, Joplin, Ron Zwisler and wife, Janet, Joplin; six grandchildren, Chad Efird and wife, Amy, Branson, Ryan Zwisler, Kansas City, Dustin Efird and wife, Natalie, Orlando, FL, Brandy Zwisler, Webb City, Brittany Anderson and husband, Casey, Fort Collins, CO, Reece Zwisler, Fort Collins; and great-grandchildren, Kyler, Gaige, Briley, Dane, Ashlynn, Delaney, Corbin and Nash.
Services are planned for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Racine Christian Church. John St. Clair, minister, will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service time, at the church. Pallbearers will be Chad Efird, Dustin Efird, Casey Anderson, Ryan Zwisler, Reece Zwisler, and Kyler Efird. Honorary pallbearer will be Kirk Roelfsema.
Contributions may be made to the Bob Zwisler Memorial Fund at Racine Christian Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

We were all sadden to hear of Bob's passing.
He was such a kind and caring man .
I know he will be missed. So many nice
childhood memories of Bob .
I know while with Kraft Foods Bob always brought us bakery products that helped subsidized our families nutritional needs during lean years back in the sixties.
God Bless Him !
