Ruth L. England, 88, Carthage, Mo., passed away early Sunday morning, September 3, 2017, at St. Luke's Nursing Center, Carthage.
Ruth Louise Goodnight was born September 29, 1928, in Bolivar, Mo., to the late Floyd and Altha (Ingland) Goodnight. She graduated from Sarcoxie High School, class of 1946. She worked as office administrator for Safeway Cheese Plant, in Carthage.
Ruth married James Richard England on March 6, 1948, in Carthage; he preceded her in death on May 10, 2005.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Carthage.
Survivors include one son, Richard England, Carthage; one daughter, Deborah Asplund, St. Augustine, Fla.; three grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Eugene Goodnight and Donald Goodnight.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, September 9, at Knell Mortuary. Minister David Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Jasper Cemetery, Carthage.
