Ruth Ann Reynolds, age 77, of Joplin, Mo., went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born May 3, 1940, in Carterville, Mo., to the late, Rev. Paul R. Williams and Opal Boyd Williams. After graduating from Missouri Southern State College, Ruth worked as an educator for the Neosho School District. Ruth was a talented piano player, playing at the age of 5 years old for her church, and later, for many local quartets throughout the years. Ruth enjoyed teaching her family and friends the piano.
Ruth was very active in her church, not just as the piano player, but also as a Sunday school teacher and anything else you asked of her. She was telling people about her Savior up to the time of her death. Ruth was a beautician and also loved to decorate cakes. She was the most caring and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
On March 3, 1967, Ruth married Charles Reynolds, in Joplin. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, David Reynolds and wife, Rina, of Brookings, S.D., Troy Reynolds and wife, Monica, of Joplin; sister, Paula McClure and husband, John, of Springfield, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Andrew Reynolds and fiancé, Emily Watson, Logan, Mackenzie, William, Silar, Wyatt and Thomas Reynolds; one sister-in-law and best friend, Grace Williams, of Carthage. Other than her parents, a brother, Rev. Jim Williams, has preceded Ruth in death.
Funeral services will be held at Journey Church, Joplin, on Saturday, September 30, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Brian Brinkhoff, officiating. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Next Steps Ministries, in care of the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
