Samuel Bruce Fann, age 71, a native of Chicago, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018.
He was a self-employed owner of Connie's Auto Rebuilders and a resident of Joplin, Mo., for over 20 years. He very much enjoyed working on and talking about rebuilding vehicles. Bruce was very creative, and had a passion for writing jokes and songs. He also loved playing baseball on a family team, in Chicago, and going fishing on the weekends.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 41 years, Connie (Cooke) Fann; children, Paula (Fann) Gutierrez, James Fann, Denise (Fann) Slepski and Derek Cooke; grandchildren, Louis Gutierrez Jr., Amanda (Gutierrez) Lindholm, Vanessa (Gutierrez) Walker, Ryan Gutierrez, Robert Gutierrez, Alex Gutierrez, Jessica Fann, Adriana Fann, Anthony Fann and Michael Yarus; great- grandchildren, Sophia and Brady Lindholm, Benjamin Walker and Brooklyn Yarus; siblings, Janice Shmerl, James David Harris, Donna O'Keefee and Debbie Lockridge; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Fann and Kathleen (Dennis) Fann; brother, Joseph Mark Brown; and nephews, Christopher Michael Jett, John Richard Harris, Jason Michael Slenk, Richard Jones and Joseph Eugene Kovar.
Private services were held at Midland Cremation, in Joplin.
Bruce was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
