Scott Allen Smith, age 58, of Joplin, MO, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family, following a brief illness.
Scott was born January 27, 1961, in Lancaster, CA. He graduated from Parkwood High School in 1979.
He worked twenty-five years for Barney's Quick Lube & Oil. He loved working on cars. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, NASCAR, and was an avid KC Chiefs fan. He loved animals especially his dog, Nikki.
He married the love of his life, Shannon Green, on January 1, 2019 at 12:01 a.m., in Eureka Springs, AR. She survives.
Also surviving is his mother, Sharon Fuller, Joplin; one brother, Michael Smith and wife, Debra, Joplin; two sisters, Cindy Junkins and husband, Tommy, Joplin, and twin sister, Shelly Ross and husband, Doug, Carl Junction, MO; one step-son, Tony Martin and wife, Brooke, Joplin; one stepdaughter, Tylan Gaylord and husband, Brody, Vinita, OK; four grandchildren, MaHayla, Gavin, Gage, and one on the way; mother and father-in-law, Lorna and Darrell Fell, Baxter Springs, KS; sister-in-law, Lindsay Eulitt and husband, Jody, Miami, OK; and nieces and nephews, Jessica Laurance and husband, Shay, Gabe Patterson, Gunnor Eulitt, and Collin Eulitt.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Barney Fuller, on May 26, 2018; and nephews, Nick Ross and Knox Laurance.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, at Mason-Woodard Chapel, Randy Wilson will officiate. Entombment will be in Ozark Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Joplin Humane Society, in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.

I am sorry to hear of his passing. I met him when we were on early 20s. He was a super guy and always a gentleman . I would run in to him over the year, mostly at the veterinary office, we would have a chat about dogs. Prayers to his family, he will be missed.

I MET SCOTT ON MY 16TH BIRTHDAY IN 1977 FROM THAT DAY ON I WAS BLESSED TO HAVE HAD SCOTT AS A BEST FRIEND. WE RACED MOTOCROSS TOGETHER FOR MANY YEARS AND SPENT HUNDREDS OF HOURS RIDING TOGETHER BETWEEN PRACTICE AND RACING... SCOTT WAS AN EXTREMELY GIFTED / TALENTED RIDER .HE WON SEVERAL RACES.SCOTT AND I ALONG WITH DENNIS SPENCER,MIKE HARE. DOUG WALKER,SHANON NYDAY,MARK BONNETT, AND OTHERS FORMED THE ORIGINAL JOMO RACING TEAM IN 1978. WE WERE A GROUP OF TIGHT NIT BUDDIES. I ALSO WAS BLESSED TO HAVE WORKED WITH SCOTT AT BARNEY'S QUICK LUBE FOR MANY YEARS ALONG WITH HIS FAMILY... SCOTT ALLWAYS LIT UP A ROOM WITH HIS BIG SMILE. SCOTT ALLWAYS MADE ME LAUGH.
