Sondra Roseanna Whited, age 71, of Joplin, Mo., passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Freeman Hospital, surrounded her family.
Sondra was born September 20, 1945, in Rockwood, Tenn., to the late Hugh Weller and Loryne Pierce Weller. As a young child, she moved to Joplin and attended and graduated from McAuley Catholic School. She was a homemaker, taking great care of her family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of Webb City, Mo.
Survivors include a son, Mike Presley, of Webb City; daughters, Theresa Woods and husband, Tommy, of Joplin, Lisa Beckham and husband, Mike, of Rogers, Ark., Angela Cline, of Joplin, and Ami Richardson, of Oronogo, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, Rose, Amanda, Ben, Jonn, Jack, Joey, Hayden, Whitney, Alicia, Chantel, Garrett and Miranda; plus nine great-grandchildren; brother, Mike Weller, of Joplin; sisters, Jayne Montgomery and partner, Kathy, of Overland Park, Kan., Leslie Thomas and husband, T.J., of Alba, Mo., and Laurel Cramer, of Joplin. Other than her parents, Sondra was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Rebecca Evans, and an infant grandchild, Allison.
Funeral services are planned for Friday, August 11, at 10 a.m. at Parker Mortuary, Joplin. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m., also at the mortuary.
