Stanley's Story

Stanley C. Kirk was born Jan. 22nd, 1931, in Afton, Okla. He passed away on Jan. 9, 2018 of pneumonia.
He was an All-State football player for Afton High School in 1948, before graduating from there in 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean War and re-enlisted for four additional years later because he liked seeing the world and serving his country.
Stanley taught fourth grade for 30 years at Seneca Elementary School, in Seneca, Mo. He enjoyed teaching and spending time with his students. In his spare time he loved painting, carving, traveling with family, and taking care of animals.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Priscilla Kirk; daughter, Kelly Haley, and two grandchildren, all of Fayetteville, Ark.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. at Brown-Winters Funeral Home, in Afton, Okla.
