Thomas Lester Rush, 73, of Carthage, Mo., passed away at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Freeman Hospital, in Joplin, Mo.
Tom was born May 26, 1944, in Wenatchee, Wash. He was the son of Lester Rush and Mary Juanita Everhart.
Tom has lived in Carthage most of his married life. He was a self- employed truck driver. Tom was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Nazarene Church.
Tom was united in marriage to Linda Lee on February 9, 1965, in Carthage. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Dusty Rush, of Neosho, Mo., and David Pennington, of Alabama; two daughters, Ronda Freelend (Allen), of Carthage, and Lynnette Watson (Alan), of Lamar; three brothers, Bill Rush, of Carl Junction, Mo., Ronald "Jerry" Rush (Joanne), of Oceanside, Calif., and Terry Rush (Barbara), of New Braunfels, Texas; one sister, Betty Pierce (Dave), of Carthage; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Tom was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Rush and Arthur "Larry" Rush; and one sister, Dixie Pennington.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 8, at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
