Troy Don Mondt, 50, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, December 13th, 2017, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, after a lengthy illness.
Troy was born April 16, 1967, in Joplin. He graduated from CCA.
Troy served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany. He returned to the Joplin area and worked as a carpet installer until his illness caused him to retire.
Troy was a huge Kansas City fan, and enjoyed taking care of his landscape. He was also known to come up with a wide variety of inventions that were very useful. Troy will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Connor Lown Mondt; children, TJ Mondt, Taylor Mustain, both of Joplin, and Kasie Lown, Webb City; mother, Carol Friend and husband, Ernest, Joplin; sisters, Shannon Thieman, Heidi Bealer, and Tiffany Terwilliger, all of Joplin; cousin, Tammy Moore, and aunt, Linda Gooch, of Arizona; mother- and father-in-law, Thomas and Nellie Ann Mustain, Carthage, Mo.; along with a niece and numerous nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 18, at 2 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel, with Rev. Jeff D. Martin officiating. Internment, with military honors, will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery, Joplin. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m.
