Virginia Marie James


Virginia Marie James, age 72, of Joplin MO went to be with her Lord on April 20, 2019 after a long illness. Born Aug. 8th in Mexico MO to the late Maud Hanthorn & Ralph Walker. She lived most of her life in the Carl Junction/Joplin MO area. After graduating from the Franklin Tech. license practical nursing program in 1970, she went to work for Dr. C.F. Gregory in Webb City. After he passed away, she went to work at Jane Chin Hospital in Webb City for 12 years. She left to work at a local nursing home and then to Seneca House where she spent the last 13 1/2 years loving and caring for the elderly. She spent over 5 years in the Boy Scouts with her late husband. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Carl Junction. She Married John A. James on Oct. 21, 1980 at First Baptist Church in Diamond, MO. Survivors include 3 children. Mathew Irwin of Webb City, MO, Jonathan James of Wake Forest, NC, and Julie Everson of Joplin, MO. She had 9 grandchildren whom she loved and will miss very much.
