W. C. 'Chub' Gorham, 76, Neosho, Mo., entered into rest on Jan. 16, 2018, at his home in Joplin.
Chub was born March 20, 1941, in Newton County, Mo., the son of Clyde and Zoe (Hague) Gorham and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Goodman High School in 1959.
He was an accomplished finish carpenter and had worked at Branco for many years before establishing his own business. In addition to woodworking, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending their activities. In September, 2003, Chub was a heart transplant recipient. He was a member of the Neosho First Baptist Church.
Chub and Marjorie (Chester) were married on Dec. 15, 1962, at Splitlog. She survives.
Additional survivors include three children, Adana Macy and husband, Vince, of Rogers, Ark., Lorri Cole and husband, Terry, of Joplin, and Dusty Gorham and wife, Janet, of Grove, Okla.; two brothers, Jerry Gorham and wife, Betty, of Seneca, and Gerald Gorham and wife, Jeannie, of Gadsden, Ala.; one sister, Donna Stout and husband, Clyde, of Joplin; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Minerva Chester. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marvin Gorham; and one sister, Betty Crews.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Jan. 20, at 3 p.m. at the Neosho First Baptist Church, Pastor Mike Snider and Dr. Todd Decker will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service until 5 p.m. at the church.
