Anne Louise DeWelt Dorris went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2017.
She was the daughter of Don and Elsie DeWelt, born in San Jose, Calif., September 17, 1946. Anne was a graduate of Joplin High School, Ozark Bible College, and Tulsa University with a Master's in Special Education. She worked at El Nino Children's Home.
In 1974, she married Doug Dorris and was his partner in ministry for 43 years.
From 1980 to 2000, Anne was the first Lady of the Prison Ministry of Missouri. During that time, she also taught both of her daughters from home. Mrs. Dorris taught special education in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband, Doug; her daughters, Lucinda and Joella; three grandchildren, Aiden, Serenity, and Iris; and her two brothers, Dan and Chris.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m Friday at the Don DeWelt Prayer Chapel at Ozark Christian College. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Park Plaza Christian Church, Joplin, Mo.
