Billie Mae Fredenburg, 89, Joplin, Mo., passed away March 15, 2017, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born February 11, 1928, in Hugo, Okla., the daughter of John and Crenna (Evans) Ayers. Billie moved to Seneca, Mo., in 1950 and lived there until 1982. She then moved to Texas where she lived until 1996 when she returned to the Joplin area. She was a homemaker and caregiver and enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Billie married Leroy Fredenburg on July 4, 1942, in Colorado City, Texas, and he preceded her in death in 1981.
She is survived by three children, Ronnie Ayers, of Joplin, Leasa Higginbotham, of Mt. Vernon, Mo., and Shelia Hopkins, of Joplin; brother, Ray Ayers, of Odessa, Texas; sister, Patsy Farmer, of San Marcos, Texas; granddaughter, Dawn Haumann, of Mt. Vernon; and great grandson, Jayme Higginbotham, of Mt. Vernon. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 18, at 1 p.m. at the Hornet Cemetery with Jarold Bass officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho.
