Jerald R. "Jerry" Martin, age 66, of Webb City, Mo., passed away at his home at 8:26 a.m. February 28, 2017,
Jerry was born October 22, 1950, in Carthage, Mo. He was the son of the late Merle J. Martin and Della M. Martin. He was a 1968 graduate of Carl Junction High School and a 1976 graduate of Missouri Southern State College with a degree in Marketing/Management.
He worked for Lozier Corp from 1968 to 1971. From 1971 to 1973 he served in the United States Army. Again from 1973 to 1989 he worked for Lozier Corp and then from 1990 to 2017 he was employed by Talbot Industries, Inc. Jerry was a partner in the Dugout Sports Shop for many years, also.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, substitute teaching, going to school activities, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include a step daughter, Amy Cloos, of Webb City; and a son, Jerrad Martin, of Colorado Springs, Colo. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Alex R. Martin, Nikolas S. Martin, and Lillian R. Dirienzo; two sisters, Carolyn Laughlin and husband, Roger, of Carl Junction, Mo., Nancy Ulmer and husband, Tommy, of Pittsburg, Kan.; and a brother, Carl Dean Martin and wife, Sharon, of Carl Junction.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. Interment will follow at Carl Junction Cemetery with full military rites. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Ulmer, Darrell Hicks, John Lundien, Ryan Evitts, Daniel (Coty) Berry, and Nick Berry. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex and Nikolas Martin. Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Carl Junction Senior Citizens Center.
